Bánh mì à la Tomami

Ingredients for 4 persons

• 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
• 1 tsp sugar
• 1 pinch of chilli flakes
• grated ginger
• 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
• 1 tablespoon water
• 1 El Tomami Umami
• 2 carrots cut into fine strips
• 2 spring onions cut into fine strips
• 1 cucumber
• 4 radishes, sliced
• 2 finely sliced green jalapeños
• fresh coriander • 4 French rolls
• 400 g fried flank steak (or alternatively slices of roast beef).


Mix the garlic, sugar, chilli flakes, ginger, rice vinegar, water and Tomami Umami together and marinate the carrot and spring onion strips in this mixture. Peel and slice the cucumber into long strips using an economy peeler. Place the cucumber, the pickled carrot and spring onion strips, the flank steak slices, jalapeños and radishes onto the French rolls. Garnish with coriander leaves and drizzle with the sauce.
